Michael Ribiat, Mr. Musique Studio Owner and Instructor, is a professional musician, teacher and recording artist with over 21 years of professional experience.
Michael's professional music career began in the late 1990's with his first published recordings and collaborations as guitarist, songwriter, & arranger for the enigmatic musical project Cinema Strange. At 19, Michael signed to the German recording label, The Trisol Music Group GmbH (2000). That same year Michael began touring internationally, and since then has toured extensively, performing regularly at festivals across Europe, Japan, Canada, Mexico, and the United States.
Beyond having an extensive background in International live-music performance, Michael is also a dedicated music scholar and has studied music at both Ventura College, where he was awarded a scholarship for excellence in piano, and an associate degree in music (2003), as well as the California Institute of the Arts, where he was awarded a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Music Composition (2006). Michael has studied Conducting, Composition, Counterpoint, Piano Performance, Theory, Harmony, Electro-Acoustic Music, History, Analysis, Musicianship and Improvisation, intensively with; Miguel Del Aguila, Susan Allen, Lorna Eder, Michael Jon Fink, Donald Frederick Jackson, Elizabeth Helms, Robert Lawson, Marc Lowenstein, Stephen "Lucky" Mosko, Michael Pisaro, Barry Schrader, Morton Subotnick, Burns Taft, James Tenney, and Paul Vorwerk.
Michael has over 14 years of experience as a private instructor and tutor of digital recording, instrumental music lessons & applied keyboard/fretboard theory. In addition to private tutoring, Michael is also former course instructor of Audio Production Principles (Production Sound for Film and Television) at the Santa Barbara City College as well as a former Music Director and Elementary Music Specialist for the Ojai Unified School District. Presently, Michael teaches music privately in Southern California as well as Online via Skype / FaceTime.
